Exclamation The Ultimate 2k2 Solution...

I have gathered all of the posts on the problems/solutions on 2k2, and posted them here, to show the ultimate solution in one simple place...

I keep hearing everyone talking about all these "*****s" on 2k2, and yes, I have my own opinions about them, and would like to have a few words with them myself, but there are some solutions.

People talk about problems in the Blacksmith shop, but people are also becoming very organized and forming lines (which I like seeing ). But on the other hand, there are always the people who cut, and find shortcuts, and it's not like you don't already have to sit in line long enough, due to the people who get in line, and don't even know how to make the iron. So then these people cut, and they go and make blades and what-not, and then they come back, making the lines even longer. There should be a "guard rail" like at movie theaters and stuff, wide enough to let people through and in a line, and move around, yet skinny enough to stop people from cutting. If you need to leave the line for some reason, you could just say "leave" or whatever, and a little rail might open or something, and you could walk out. That's a solution that suits what the RPers on 2k2 want.

People talk about these people who steal rocks in the mines. I posted this solution in an earlier post, so I'll just copy it: Actually, I think a neat solution to that problem would be this, (I got this idea from entering the café on JK2) have a guard stand at the door of "No PK zones" and when someone is about to enter, have the guard say, "Please hand over your weapons, you will get them back when you leave." You then should have the option to give them your weapons and be able to enter, or not hand over your weapons and obviously you wouldn't be able to enter. I actually think that would go along with the RP scenario, and it'd be a good way to handle no PK zones, rather than having to check your sword everytime you enter the room.

The staff could edit this as they like, and maybe more people could suggest stuff to make them better? Each plan has flaws, but I believe that other people could fix them. I see a problem in 2k2 and I say that "most" of us are civilized enough to get it fixed, like the people in the smithing shop. I think 2k2 is the most fantastic server I've played on, and I really wish it could be better, unlike 2k1, which was a good server, but it was too unbalanced. Police might actually be another solution, but not like those corrupt bastards on 2k1, who'd take their friends out of jail if they were bad. When people are thrown in jail, they should have a record on them, and the only people with the "remove" ability should be staff members, that aren't corrupt, so that the sentence is carried through, and people don't get away with stuff they shouldn't. - Me

a money system: we need a simple system to track wealth, maybe each kingdom would have their own kind of money, just to spice it up, or maybe just a material thing, such as 1 iron rock makes 10 iron coins, while a rock of gold will make 10 gold coins, and iron coins will be worth 1/2 of gold coins.

start up a bounty hunter's guild: this will help with all of the outlaws and punks roaming about the world, people will think twice now about wronging a farmer if they know they will be hunted down. bounties cannot be set up by people killed by the outlaw, because that wouldnt be cool.

death system since this is an rp server, pking will probably not be a problem, leaving the server open to an interesting death system. when a player dies, they leave their body in the form of a soul, or ghost. They carry none of their items, and must go to a Temple to be ressurected back into their body. Whenever a person dies, they leave all of their items on the ground, and their body, also, leaving them open to looters. characters revived in this way cannot remember what happened leading to their death, making them lose 1/2 level of experience. characters in soul form can travel around the world, nearly invisible to all, except clerics and other diviners who can gaze into the spirit world, via spells. A soul is very vunerable to magical attacks, and a soul that is "killed" is immobilized until brought back to physical form. since someone may spend days in this "soul coma", souls have the ability to cut their own life thread, letting themselves rest, eternally. I've already ranted long enough on this, so I ll move on

Kingdoms the server is in dire need of a place for people to vent all of their violence, and this will be through wars. a soldier in the military gets a military class weapon, some training (a few level ups, or whatever we run on), citizenship in the kingdom, and a steady pay. Players would not always want to be a part of the kingdoms, so they would be able to choose themselves as Neutral, which is where all of the nonkingdom groups are: The Nomads, the Desert Bandits, the Pirates, the Merchant Troupes, and all that romantic whatnot. being an independant, however, leaves you unprotected by the law, and by an army. - ghostsamurai

Hmm, too much of the idiocy that flourished on 2001 is seeping into 2002, fast. Some types of rules need to be made against stupid behavior or such or 2002 will have the same type of players 2001 had.

For example today:

Some kid planted about 20-30 trees in the Sea Side Farm while I went up there to make stuff with my boards. Obviously, the trees got more than in my way and it was virtually impossible to see/move inside the farm. I asked him why the hell he was planting all these trees here. He said he "was bored and wanted to make a forest". I told him that this wasn't the place and that he should try to plant trees in a forest, where they belong. He was having none of this and said "stfu", then went to planting more trees. Being a normal anti-social bastard, I grabbed my axe and proceeded to chop every single tree down, being sure to leave the wood for the kid. While I was doing this, he followed me and started swearing up a storm, along with constant "ur mom" references. After deforesting the farm, he proceeded to follow me and tell me I was going to get jailed for chopping his trees. Nice huh?

Later that hour, I went into the mines to help Phantasm out with mining since I was bored. I saw that some Dustarians were using a buddy system for mining, one attacking people who try to get the rock(stealing doesn't exist, it's a free-for-all, didn't know you could get something stolen if you didn't own it), while the other mined. I decided to attack anyone that tried to get the rocks that Phantasm was trying to mine so he could get his gold and leave, fun for me eh? Anyway, about halfway through this, some guy named "Mine Guard Alpha" came up and said "Hey, there is no stealing or attacking in the mines, do it again and you'll be jailed."
I knew there was no such rule, so I continued my killing. He this time swung at me and said he was "reporting me to Pir". I laughed and started killing him for attacking me and being an idiot, I don't like people that think they are authority because they put something in their name. After killing him, he said "Hey, you can't kill me, you're getting banned."
I was on the floor laughing at this point. After a few minutes, I asked him why I wasn't banned yet.
He replied:
"Stefan has given me powers to jail people who attack in the mines, hold on while I report you."
I asked him to hurry up then, never did hear from him again.

So as you can see, if I saw this much stupidity in an hour, imagine what goes on all the time here. Something needs to be done, please. - DarkCloud

Now, my question is, how can we go about to get this enforced on 2k2? It does no good to just keep talking about the problems, we need to start taking actions...

Actually continually talking about them does serve a purpose; namely the 2k2 staff members also read and discuss it which might inspire them to take the actions described in the posts.
