It works perfectly with DirextX 8.1 for me, so apparently some of your computer's drivers don't work with DirectX 8.1

Yes may be the graphics card driver has a problem

I also have Directx ver8.1, but I think my sound card is broken, the sounds for graal rarely work, and usually are skippy
