He made the gravity boots, along with a really awful poem that was supposed to guide people to it. The poem itself wasn't so bad, except in the sense that all poems intended to rhyme are bad - it was that it all referred to NEW things, and there was no level updates log to find out about such things. Like the thief on a ledge far aloft - not the mayor of Zol's Snow Town, though he was a metaphorical thief in the highest possible area in Graal - but a new Thief NPC added at the chief's grave, which as any fool knows is in balcony.zelda. There were a lot of other things that didn't make sense...find a ditch and cry did not, in fact, mean anything, however other obscure mentions did...Linkson published an updated poem that did not have any references to non-landmarks, rhymed better, and cut out the false clues, and Antago responded by reminding him rather curtly which one of them was the admin and who could have who banned, which didn't go over too well...Linkson eventually managed to get up a fixed quest, as the NPCs for the original required the player be the first in the swamp and nobody else enter the swamp until he finishes hearing the sleepy guy's speech....he probably got nearly banned for his impertinence. That's about when we all decided Antago was evil and had to go. Then he started referring to civilians/non-admins as peasants, and starting posts with "Don't you dare ever say that I said [something I said five minutes ago]", it got worse and worse but he never got in trouble. He quit a few times, then came back and roped Bruges, Kyle, and eventually even Stefan into scripting his Bomy concept - and from what I hear, he was impossible to work with. His most notable offence in my book, however, was the Antagonist Tower incident, which by some miracle is still standing in Nostalgia. I ran it by him to make sure he appreciated the humor and wouldn't be offended. He said it was fine, he wasn't so immature to be offended by such a lame attempt at a quest. So I get ******ok (who had FTP at the time) to upload it. Antago "strongly suggests" to Stefan that ******ok be fired, the levels restored from backup, and the concepts behind the levels banned to the extent that it took me months to convince Nightlord to let me reopen Nostalgia - for the intervening time it was a dead warp, I dunno if any of you remember that. I checked with him during this time, wanted to make sure he really WAS fine with them, he said they were fine - but don't be surprised if my levels are all deleted.
Then he quit for like a year and came back a lot more collected, he's actually tolerable most of the time now. But that's growing up for you, we all go through our antagonistic phases. |
