Events?

Once again I could use some input from any former Classic players who happen to still check this forum.

What events would you like to see return, or wouldn't like to see return, and why? (CTF and battlegrounds are already back, for good or for worse, so don't comment on those two.)

In addition, can you think of any events you would like to see implemented?

We're going to try to get a better mix of events this time around, so any constructive ideas would be very beneficial.

Details please people. What was it about the events you liked/didn't like, so we can maybe incorporate them into new ones/others.

Gladius is GC Admin, so it really is his obligation to address all concerns relating to GC while the server is pre-UC.

Though you are right at one sense, you should really usher the Dev Team for server related updates (if any).

As for events to return, I wouldn't mind seeing events like fortbuilder and mazepk return if scripted a bit better. They were fun and unique events, both requiring a bit of strategy.

-Fortbuilder was awesome
-Hovercrafts were even better (pre NPC server)
-I actually want CTF back, I loved how it made everyone competitive.
-Wizard and Warlocks was horrible tbh, maybe some tweeks could be added to make it better.

Adaptable GC tool, sandbox levels to go along with the tool, and creative events made by GC that are not supported by scripters with an umbilical cord.

Throw an example.

Example of what?

I guess maybe a minimalistic GC tool and encouraging creativity for events. IE: A room that a GC could host trivia in, a spar room... just a simple system instead of having levels where the GC says "start" and the game goes.

Maybe a sumo tool instead of a sumo level-- so when it is dropped the gc sets a "home" point where it warps players to when they are in water... so sumo could be hosted anywhere.

Basically sandbox levels for the studio levels and dynamic tools that can be applied in a variety of situations instead of tailored events.

Maybe there'd be threads about a different topics if Gladius wasn't the only classic administrator asking the community about its opinions regarding anything.

I don't know why you keep on sticking to your whole "we don't listen to the players" argument, there hasn't really been that much real solid suggestions with regards to Questing, and I think that's something you really have to stick with a specific plan for as a whole to really execute well, with regards to Events i've been in favour of the majority of suggested changes, I built the systems for and allowed CTF to be hosted on every serious request and i'd very much like to see it (as well as other Events at a later point if desired) hosted on an organised basis until the server is fully up and running.

One of the big requests was for Default HD/Movement, now I admit we haven't delivered that precisely, but I think we've delivered something that only has very subtle differences (some intentional) and it's something that i've heard alot of good feedback for, there have been a few times where we've had 10 - 15 sparrers from UN within Supernicks (where the Spar System also includes alot of suggested features) several saying they would prefer to spar on Classic if it was up.

For the sake of a quick update i'd like to say that we are beginning Quest related content, we have completed a set of cut scene/character control classes the main intention for now being to use within the server Intro, I believe this will be an improvement on what people are used to.
