Mythic Legends

Some of the following information are still rough ideas, and might be altered at any time.

Mythic isn't focused on any specific theme, as long as it makes some kind of sense, it's possible. In one place you might see the inhabitants relying on technology, while other places might focus on magic or even good ol' fashioned hard work. The general theme is simply referred to as "Fantasy" - mixing medieval and futuristic properties. You want a giant flood? Or would you rather visit an underwater city? Well just take your personal flying machine that also works as a submarine!

Each area will consist of their very own small/medium/big gmap, and that gmap links to surrounding areas. The positive thing about it, is that it's a lot easier to expand the current content by simply adding new links to a gmap - and it ensures that there's no "blank spots" left on the overworld.

You start playing by creating a character (you can have up to 6), and you'll have to choose basic stats, appearance, name and some misc. other information for it. In order to gain experience you need to quest, train your professions, or fight baddies. Most combat is completely randomized based on preset alternatives for that specific area, and take place in another level using Turn Based combat (ala Final Fantasy 4-6 style).

As you advance in levels, you get to spend more stat points, and will eventually gain new skills. Our rulesystem is based upon the FFRPG (Final Fantasy Role Playing Game) Third Edition Core Rules, which is a completely fan made RPG. I suggest you Google it if you want to know more about it.

Your actions related to quests and NPCs will change your alignment, which makes it impossible for you to "catch 'em all", and lets you focus more on how you want your character to behave and the results from your actions. There will be no pros or cons depending on what alignment you have, but it will modify your gameplay.

We want to create a world free of boundaries, that never get repetitive, and then fill it with life so the surroundings doesn't stop once there's no players. NPCs will all have their own "lives" and daily tasks, and towns will be filled with shopping crazy NPCs. You get the picture.

We want to make sure everyone can play the server, whether you're into questing, battling other players, grinding for ooooone more level, or even roleplaying. Our focus will however be the PvE part, and RP will be strongly encouraged (but not enforced).

This is how we look at it - if there's room for improvement, it has to be done.

We are constantly developing on the server, and to be honest, we could never get enough help. If you can create decent pixel art, or add that little extra to levels - then we'd love to have you around. Heck, even if you like to write stories or create concept art, there's a spot for ya! All staff gets the right to contribute to the actual gameplay and plot, we are constantly discussing it on a private part on our own forums.

You must be wondering why you should even consider helping us, right? Well, I can't speak for you, but we can offer you:
  • A friendly and mature staff team.
  • A chance to make a difference on the server as a whole.
  • A workplace where you won't have to wait for ages to Person #A to finish Task #3 in order for you to continue your work.

I believe that's most of it, for now anyways. The server is usually open for public, but will be closed to staff only the nearest couple of days. If you want to know anything else, or interested in lending a hand, feel free to contact me - you can find my contact information in my signature. And thanks for reading this far!

The following two levels are just rough mock ups without any decoration to fill up empty space - they are just here to prove that work is being done, if nothing else.
