If you are planning to make humanoids or even semi-humans (orcs, whatever that has some similarity to a human body structure) Study human anatomy!!

It helps <--------- this ---------> much. Also, if you have a good sense of the human anatomy you can create animations, poses, and perspectives from a different angle a whole lot better. Drawing, anime, 3d models, whatever books and guides I read I always see the author recommending this.
