Use difrent outline colors, for example, if you veiw the head in my other thread (staying a-"head") the hair that overlaps the headband was outlined with blue, to keep the details from each other. Take your time, the more time you spent on the outline and coloring the better image you'll get. (in most chases, if you want to make a cartoonish outline it will often be better with a single draw from the pencil.)
