Those stones looked like you really pushed paint on canvas
. You have a very good eye for how to manage less detail to gain a more realistic effect with fewer but very precise and well selected colors and strokes.
Not to mention that by keeping the stones less in focus and with softer tones and less detail it really brings the snail out on the composition.
That's more than knowing how to place pixels - its the knack for knowing exactly where to, to make a great total piece.
