The entire magic system needs to be faster. Every aspect of the magic system in GK is wayyy too slow... Magic Bullet for example... isn't it supposed to be a Magic BULLET? But instead, it moves like a magic beach ball... Also, mana/sp regen is too slow. There is absolutely no way a spellcaster can complete a map without carrying mana crystals on them... and spell casting itself... the time it takes to throw a wussy bullet is too long... some spells need a dramatic speed up... but not all... duration benefitical spells can still keep its slow cast time...

But on the topic of New spells...
Perhaps a revival of a spell from the old days... Flame Spiral
Or a fresh idea... Energy Field... 1sp... can be cast very quickly with almost no delay... deals 2+MagicLev/4 damage to everything near you...
