See, the thing is alot of the time the PMs are not shown after ~30 days by default. After this time they dont really show up and by just glancing you dont even notice you have old PMs in your inbox.

I totally agree with that. I took a look at everyone's PM counts and had a good laugh when I saw Stefan's. He has more than 2
thousand PMs (forum admins don't have a limit). I'd wager he's only need a handful of those.
