The point is that there's no sequence like there is on classic - i.e. 3 different swords and shields, and you have to follow the line one by one. Kingdoms is more wide-spread, and it's point is roleplaying, which classic-style quests can't improve. I'm not saying that what is avaliable on GK does, but at least is has the potential. You can enter the HH without any rp-ish reason at all, but you can also come up with just as many if you want to. You'd do classic-style quests "to get a stronger item". In my opinion, that's pretty much it. "Indefinite" quests, like the HH or treasure maps, allow a greater extend of roleplaying, at least they don't limit anything.
Besides, they're there and working - why not improve on them? Incorporate riddles there, in some fashion, I'm sure there can be found ways...
