I don't but the excuse has been made before that people like to see their AIM buddy list and so forth. But, seriously, fullscreen games tend to run better than when windowed. More processing time is given to them and they are given more system resources. So really, if you play with a 1024x768 screen the playerlist will easily fit in the screen
It may be obnoxious, but it certainly won't crowd the screen. Under 640x480 it would.
