Yes, a "subscreen". Believe it or not there are other servers than 2k2 (aka, *cringe* "kingdoms") and era. In these mythical servers, if you didn't mess around with your key config settings, or it didn't have it disabled in some way, pressing Q would usualy open a "subscreen", where you would typicaly change weapons, etc. In v3, windows AND linux, if there are too many items to fit a row, rather expanding onto the next row like it did in the yee olde days, it will instead just merge the excass into one big hairy mess. Call me a nastalgic old fool, but I like being able to use all of my weapons.

Ahh.. now that I know what you're talking about. That's called the
Inventory Window, not
Subscreen. This bug is a known one.

See, it'll just sit there for too long to be reasonable, so I'll close it and open it untill it works (when it does, it only takes a few seconds-minutes rather spaning 10 minutes)... but by that time the game client has screwed up my sound drivers (an error I forgot to mention), so I'll have absolutly NO sound... more than enough incentive for me to reboot, wich is a slap in the face for any *nix user.

Try sticking
NPC Code:
207.44.156.91 listserver.graalonline.com
Into your hosts file... sounds like your nameservers suck, and your box isn't cacheing properly... quite speedy on my end.

I've heard alot that the higher the resolution you give the game window, the more unstable the game is. Besides, I want to be able to do other things with my system. Theres aim... a clock... the occasional opening the command promt to chmod the folders so the client can load an image... a desktop right click on so I can get into the submenu where I stuck the shutdown/reboot link because graal killed my sound....
lots of things that I like to use the moniter for than just graal. Besides, its not imposible to let the window not be constrained from the game area. I've seen it done before alot, and even with "pretty windows", not just your average pop up or w/e.... and with c++, too!!! Well, I'm sure all those exemplamary programs were made by some sort of COMPITENT PROGRAMER.

Not impossible per se, but those windows in the game are being rendered just like the game, they are not phsyical windows in the X enviornment. (How big is your desktop? I can fit an 800x600 game into my 1024x768 and have no problems....)
