Second, you are thinking of a very old Dustari, when the Astri did get us to surrender under Larrien's reign and join your alliance, though the military never did fully comply with the king's wish to appease the occupiers.

You would not find us rolling over anytime soon.



As for kingdom wars, the hardest part is it is too easy to get a lot of your guys on, and attack when not many of your enemies are on line. You kill the batch, and then they aren't allowed to fight when the next batch get on, etc, so it is hard for Stefan or anyone to come up with a good kingdom battle system.

Also, as soon as a conquest system is in place, it will invariably be based on large scale player battles or other tests of player 'PK strength' and at least now, you have to rp to fight a kingdom.

Then you get kingdoms cancelling rp events in favor of 'mapping up' to defend their ability to exist.
Doesn't sound like something that will improve rping overall.


The bottom line is..............is GK an 'empire/conquest game' or an 'rp game'?

It is very hard to combine the two elements seemlessly.

I am in favor of better ways to handle rp wars. I think you should have a 'war mode' and you should be able to view statistics of the war.
If Dustari and Astri were at war now, (or even with a non-kingdom guild), then the dead would not be able to fight or even stay in an active combat zone without getting warped out, until after the full war (not battle) ended by the enemy surrendering or being 90% killed etc, or some good test of victory.

That means, if you defend another nation, you may end up taking enough casualties to make you vulnerable to attack, and you would get a lot more intrigue in dipomacy and treaties.

Of course, winning doesn't make you the new ruler, so you would have to rp that part still, but it would make it harder for a ruler to justify they are rping their reign effectively while ignoring every rp battle's results.
