You can use the sprite sets as templates, provided you make your own GFX and ganis (i.e. simply renaming them is not sufficient). Also, if you're going to do that, make sure when you DO make the new one, that you do NOT prefix your ganis with human_. That would write over our ganis, and that would be bad.
Stealing of either gfx or ganis will result in hurt for you.
