Heartless as it may sound, those people don't really matter. They shouldn't be putting stuff online, because they invariably make horrible mistakes. If someone wants to learn to script then they can do so. If they don't then they shouldn't be producing scripts.

In any part of learning, application/use is almost always essential. Somebody with 0% testing experience could have a mistake in their script, disabling them from getting a job to apply their knowledge and better learn from it. Just reading something is a poor way of learning without application.

Oh, you're talking about applying for jobs? Then they'd be pretty stupid to submit a script with serverside components when they don't have the opportunity to test it. There are plenty of impressive clientside concepts they could cook up.
