Races? It's "classes", sir. Anyhow, bringing back creation of those cool alchemy weapons would make the alchemist class somewhat better
It would be a good way for money making. Maybe there should be a nice exp system set up where you get more exp for making better items.
edit: Maybe also make a chance for flaws? Like...you can end up making a mithril chainmail of berwean with speed+(insert big number here), but it takes away ac,wc,and important stats (like constitution). That would be good for traveling.
