as for the 3 images you included, the first one would look good if the grass had differenet shades of color, even though its zoomed out. you do realize that grass is not on sold tone, nor is it a solid tone of green with dark and light specs here and there. if you look at my grass tile zoomed in a bit, you'll notice that I actualy spent some time in making it, not just applying an airbrush.
the second one looks like you edite one of the blocks in the 3rd one and zoomed in a little.
the 3rd one is ok, because its not a landscape.

Aknts' current avatar and sig I actualy like, the avatar more than the sig, they fallow the fact that there is always room for detail. a pile of gold is obviousely not a triangle of yellow with specks of darker and lighter yellow, so why should grass be any different?
