You worry too much
All the best Graal people (in quality of character and such) haven't done the old stuff in too long anyways because they've been away from old-styled servers. They all either play GK, work on their own server projects, are very busy in life, are very busy with Graal development things, or quit Graal all together. So really it's just an olympics for UN players...The other free servers don't have the classic feel (Valikorlia, Era...), so those players have been away from that too long also.
