you know, its the stangest thing ... before i posted this thread
at its beginning, I had been able to have the npcserver off, restarted the gserver by itself, and my npcs worked fine, as they did offline. Then, when the npcserver kicked back in (turned itself on, probabaly a crontab command timeout check on the unix side is running), then yes, the npcs didnt show or work when the npcserver turned on.

Now, thanks to the document and now working links refrenced in this thread, I am learning how to make use of the npcserver commands, and I like it!
