Okay, well as you new, heres a tip: Dont over crowd the level. Having some areas that are some what blank to some extent is fine, of course big patches of nothing would look stupid, but covering all 4096 tiles with something other than plain grass is a bad approach.
House:
Okay i'll start with this, overall a good use of tiles, some errors but that is because of the tileset, maybe make a more interesting pattern, and not just a chequed. The trees dont look too good, as the tree stump is behind the building, but the top is over the top, so maybe dont have them as they look weird.
Cliff:
The cliff is good as you are new to level making, look on the tileset there should be some cliff tiles without them white lines to make it look better.
Detail:
This is the main problem. Its too much and over the top. The dirt path, you should use more tiles and less of that plain brown one. The raised and lowered grass, dont make too many layers of this, else it doesnt look that good. And dont rely on the pond generator. But overall its good, keep making them, and have a play around. |
