Well, part of it was pressure from Nintendo. I think Stefan can verify that. They were gettin' pretty pissed at Zelda Online because it used ripped sprites and stuff from A Link to The Past. So Stefan and unix had to create different graphics for the game. The whole Graal thing just sort of fell into place as I recall to fill in the gaps and to give the game a sort of purpose. By this time I think they felt that the game had real potential n'stuff. Players started flocking and hence came motivation to allow it to continue. Heh, I remember all the old old old Graal betas. Then people got all mad because unix and Stefan made a version called Graal Gold that you had to pay for. The Gold version would let you get all the NPCs and the Gold sword (nukeshot, fireblast, etc...when you got them in the regular version it wouldn't add them to your inventory)...Things were so crazy back then...anyway, sorry I got off topic there...

Maybe Stefan and unix got drunk one night and started doing vodka shots out of graals...haha I think Stefan should give an official statement or something as to where the original story came from. I think it'd be interesting to know how or where the idea came to be. All's I remember is him saying that Nintendo was giving him pressure so he was gonna completely alter the game.
