Talking I can't wait for this version to come out.

I am very glad to learn that the engine will include 24-bit color support in the newer releases. I have been having the same problems like davidpsy with our custom tileset for End of Ages. I have been doing graphics long enough to know the best methods of color reduction, but even using those methods, the 24-bit files will usually look better than the reduced version.

It is not so much in the fact that all the tiles have fancy graphics, but in the fact that you can have millions of colors in the tileset instead of just limiting yourself to 256 unique colors. When you want to add a new color in the 8-bit file, assuming you are already using 256 unique colors, you usually have to delete a color in order to free up an entry on the color table or hope for a close enough color replacement when you reduce the image.

I am hoping this release comes out soon so it will make things easier for me and a lot of the other graphic people on graal.
