There's a metoer heading towards earth that would hit in approximately 800 years ^_^

Hitting it with a laser or something would only scatter it which could cause even more damage and blowing something up next to it could send it off course but those calculations were made upon the assumption that it's solid rock. Sadly, a piece of one was found which contained air pockets so...earth is screwed in 800 years unless they have some uber technology that could turn it into nothing by that time x.x
