Perhaps...perhaps not. What one is doing and the size of it does have an impact on such things. You do realize this, yes? Care to explain to me how you would take care of filling out 2048+ terrain levels? Its a slightly annoying process at times to plop down all the NPCs especially in the meticulous fashion that I want them to be in. But I do it because I enjoy doing it and wish to share part of my world with everyone.
If you must know, I used to be open, but then I changed project plans. I
could open my doors, but there's nothing for anyone to do

This isn't your run-of-the-mill PW. This isn't the same mediocre mess that the majority of the other playerworlds are. This world is going to be an organized RP world. Players will get some say in the direction in which things will move
after what I want to do is done with. This includes development as well as the first few stories that I will be working on and will be casting players for specific characters and roles. After those are done, then players will be given choices on how and what will be the next stories and such. For the most part, it will be non-linear RP. The story part will be done once a week; probably on a Saturday since I have that day off from work unless I have a mandatory work day that day (extra pay++!!!)
*edit*
Its like with console games. For example, Nintendo has a history of running for a while with many games in development. Would you want them to release a game they are working on when its only half done? Full of nasty bugs and gliches as well as maybe nothing to really do? They work on thier projects till they are satisfied with thier efforts. The same applies for me and I'm no where near satisfied because I do not have anything that I want made directly available that does not meet my standards.
