Copout. Molecular uniformity is irrelevant. Talismen aren't for 'pulling magic through', they're for focusing the user's energies into a usable form. They provide a template for magic use, a way for it to be expressed.
Amulets are different. Amulets are for
storage of magical energy. Maybe diamonds are good at that, I dunno, but they have to be prepared before they are of any use. A tooth from a magical beast needs little treatment before it can begin aiding the wearer.
Zen is right, organic matter is not simply a random assortment of atoms. All of our characteristics evolved over time, being honed by the progressive generations. Organic matter is far better at channeling spiritual energy because spiritual matter is tied to organic creatures. And we
don't hit things with magic - we use magic to make a fireball and then hit them with that.
