1) Patriotism. Your country fed you junk like 'we are so great but the terrorists are bad and they try to attack us but we are great so we will not be defeated rar'. Naturally human instinct says 'yo, I will do my bit for this fine country in which I live god bless the US of A with our beautiful stars and stripes in our fine country where even a poor little boy can make it big time and become some rich guy because the streets of this fine country are paved with gold yessirree, gold like the hearts of the fine people of this fine country'.
2) The media told you to, and the majority of people are too stupid to do anything other than what the media tells them to do.

Yeah, I called Americans stupid. But that's okay, because I'd readily say the same thing about pretty much any country. Humans in general are fairly stupid creatures, y'know? But, to be fair, I think Americans allow themselves to be deluded more easily than the average guy. Hence the huge presence of Christianity and patriotism in the country.
****, Americans pay taxes up the a-hole when it comes that special day in April. Where does it all go? To other 3rd-world contries that need it to buy food. Do we complain? Sure we do, but we worked for the money we give to the Government, and it DOES give us the right to complain.
