I have an idea.
Customizable Shells. Wait it's not what you think, let me explain. I know there is a size issue.
Since changing a bomys shell is essentially changing the bomy itself, all a shell would be is a bomy skin. (You know, if you put a pirat shell on you would look like Pirat 0. In all respects, you would be)
But there would be some skins that were only available through having its shell.
But, wait, I'm not done.
You could buy defensive shells that lessen damage done to you, or offensive ones that increase damage you do. Or one that increases your max hp. Or one that increases your speed. Or one that lets you move slower in water.
Different shells have different attributes.

This is just an idea, and I think someone could take this and work it into something much better.
