of course I wouldnt, in fact this is the whole point....

I would want to update the engine. I would use something like this to its fullest. I know many people that are put off by not having an existing working engine and/or servers. So anyway this would require rewritting basicly everything and it is not going to happen so... yea if they want to do this I'd be sure to lend some help

I just read again what you wrote, some examples of fun things to be made by having plugins:

chat system
voice chat
video chat
streaming audio
sms systems
(possible, though not sure if wanted) P2P network
site integration (eg: forums, chat rooms, top sites, statistics)
email
browsing (more advanced interactive browsing type system)
better RC
better guild managment

there are many more things you can do but I am lazy and I just said the first things that came to mind
