That idea about the purifying winds is awesome, but it should have some handicap, like...put it at the end of a quest, nothing related to killing monsters, just puzzles, like maybe you need to do something to get some key, etc. At the end of the quest, some NPC could be there, that looks like a Sorceror, and says that if you want to clean your weapon of all magic on it (enchantments, scrolls, etc.), give him the weapon, and some money, but there is a slight chace you wont get back all the components. So, it can be that you give him the weapon, and 500 plat is deducted from your acct (the Sorceror has to make a living somehow

) then some cool Gani with lights and stuff can occur as the weapon is placed into the winds, and then it is cleared of magical effects, and you get the items back (or most of them anyway).
