Yes, I have supported whaling since I first saw it proposed. That would ROCK. And with the dangerous beasts, naval battles would get more interesting.

Pirate ship closes on another kingdom's ship, begins firing..... the two ships enter a long series of dodging and cannon volleys..... suddenly a huge, mysterious beast rises out of the ocean, picks a ship at random, and rips it to shreds (maybe not that quickly). The survivor sails on....
