Yes it couldnt be that people left to play 2k1 could it?
The economy is not what has destroyed the player count. It is the limited number of gold accounts and the lack of new things on 2k1. 2k1 lacks substance to keep people entertained. Where as 2k2 is constantly being updated under the supervision of Stefan. Mean while 2k1 is passed from manager to manager in hopes some one will fix it. Personally I dont see 2k1 ever regaining a stable population. Especially not when theoretically the player count rests on the economy. Why does it rest on the economy? Because thats just about all 2k1 has at this point. There are what 2 quests? One barely even being a quest that last I checked with new bodies the players couldnt hurt. 2k1 needs to stop trying to rely on th economy and worrying about resets and it needs to focus on getting new updates non economy based to give players something to do. RP isnt a good idea because if some one wants to RP they can go to 2k2. They need to find something to focus on that is non RP related. The idea of a guild type system would be good because it would appeal to the people who dont like to role play.
But I can say if you reset the economy. Not a single thing will change. Except you will have a few less players. Which with the current count would probably be all of them. There is especially no point in doing a reset unless the time is taken to balance it before hand. Otherwise it will just keep going around in a circle where all this money builds up and people will say reset reset. Instead of reset how about fixing it? Then finding some way to eat money. Although one could argue who cares if something is super expensive thats just inflation. Doesnt mean the economy is broke. You cant really have an economy if you keep releasing the same thing from npc's over and over they become more and more common prices drop. Ok I've rambled enough now. But for the second part if you wanted a decent economy you would want to establish rarity. Such as bomy's make only a limited number of items etc.. Also establish things to sell. You have bomy's, hat's, music items. As far as I'm aware anything else is just assorted minor junk. You cant have a stable economy with just three items people are really wanting.

That would go more towards fixing it. Ok I've really rambled enough now and no one is going to read all of this so I'll stop and maybe add more later.
