I don't know what the "type" is supposed to do, but apart from that it could be usefull.
I was thinking of it before to be used on map levels (for the overworld) where everything is viewed from a huge height. Then you would run around with a smaller player, but you need to change it that it wouldn't be blocking the default 2x2 tiles.
So there are many uses for this command, but we have just got to think about how easy it could be abused.
