Alright, hey all...I havent posted for a very long time, but this has caught my interest quite a bit and I hafta get my 2 cents in. If ya don't know me, I'm Cid...Admin at Doomsday, player there for over a year, and been a staff for about 8 months now. Now I only read the first 2 pages and then came here to write, so sorry if im back to an old topic...but there are some things with this i agree, some i dont.
I'm lead to understand that servers will be taken down...i agree some do...and that the total after we're done will be..5, correct? Now that I don't necessarily agree with...why make it a particular number...why not jsut decide which servers are good and which are bad, and keeping the good ones. Now I believe if we do that it'll prolly leave us with only about 7 servers rather then 17. 7 isnt much more then 5, but it will keep alot more people happy and make everyone who wants to cut the fat happy.
Now I have full confidence that one of those 5 would be Doomsday, I see that Toran rated it with Delteria as the best servers out there, giving it a 3/5, so I'm not really bringing this up as a defense, its more of a defense of my fellow players who might be crushed by the fact that their server, one thats good, but just not good enough to make the top five. We have a playerworld inspection team, why not use it? rate the servers on a pass fail, the ones that pass, leave. The ones that are close, give a couple weeks to fix whats wrong. The ones that arent even close (unmanaged, no players, etc etc) just cut out immediately. Sorry for the long post, but i think this is the most sensible course of action. |
