1) Porky steals Tyhm's corn - gets item Stolen Corn, gets tag Thief
2) Tyhm sets bounty on Porky
3) Terazel kills Porky, gets item Tyhm's corn
4) Terazel gives Tyhm "Tyhm's Corn", gets bounty.
Anyone who steals from a non-thief is branded a thief. Anything stolen by such a thief is tracked in a database - if they log off or die within an hour, the database makes a note to remove the stolen goods when that account returns, and places the item. Anyone returning the item gets the bounty, if any.
Laundering - if a thief uses a Stolen knickknack, is it still considered Stolen? If a thief steals my gold and makes a sword, is it Tyhm's Stolen Sword, or is it just a loss? CAN a thief use stolen goods? The simple response would be no, they have to survive for an hour unpaused and unprotected before they get the stolen goods. Maybe the thief tag is only for an hour too. *shrugs* |
