If you have two things, one is worse and one is better. If you have three or more things, one is the worst of the three, one is the best of the three. Trouble comes in that Worse and Worst sound almost exactly alike. And in that the idiom is put your BEST foot forward, when BETTER would be more correct. Unless you have three feet. |
