1) Even if I were to somehow bring back all the old "classic" levels and update them to work under the new scripting rules, it wouldn't be the same - it wouldn't be new anymore, and after a while it would either need to be updated (to make parts new again) or it would never be updated (to keep it Classic).
2) I asked Stefan for an NPC Server with options - ie Still Allow Clientside Scripts, Still Allow Baddies, Still Allow Weapons, so I can convert it a bit at a time. If I make Classic 2 with an NPCServer, then do a sudden switch, people are just gonna be even more disoriented than usual. Plus, why the hell would I want to work on a second server and update two at once? |
