Well, in my humble opinion...
The best weapon for fighting an un-armoured opponent is a smallsword with a gauche, and the best weapon for fighting an armoured opponent is either a kusarigama, or one of those 16th century German war hammers!
Katanas are nice but people should recognize the diversity in japanese swords beyond just katanas! I, for example, always dug the No-Tachi, but I've fallen out of favour with it in favour of the paired Tanto and Tachi! |
