Women could have easily been overpowered by men, and the current state of government offered them no way to rise or protest. They did not want to "be like that"

I didn't say they liked it, I just agreed that it was more common in those days (assuming Graal to be set in some sort of medieval era). Women were objects to be won, and if they disliked the fact then they didn't voice it. All lending the events in his comic more credibility.
