As the NPC server was down one time, I noticed that my rope still worked, as did all of my other NPC weapons.
No other NPCs worked but the NPC weapons. Night/day was intact because, well, it's in an NPC Weapon. Rather, an invisible one.
Stefan, I have a couple of suggestions to fix this. Find a way to encrypt the text in memory, or have NPC weapons server-side as well...
