Never failed, it was re-directed. Basically Graal was a pre-stage. If you actually thought about trying to make an online game instead of a graal server it would be easier than you think. I'm surprised why Koni doesnt just go to making an online game because you get more out of it. What do you get on graal huh? All you are doing is putting up a playerworld that Unixmad makes bucks off of while you get nothing in the process. It would not be that much harder to just convert the project to an online game. If you dont have any friends that can code then Unixmad's little game is perfect for you.
