Actually if I ever made a playerworld I'd make multiple divisions for clarity (E.G. one folder for each city, and a folder for any loose quests etc.), then it's also the case that if people want to edit certain parts of the playerworld they don;'t need full FTP acces.
Plus multiple folders are handy since you can give everyone their own personal testing folder, without risking that they have too much acces.
