Clearly they MUST be different, however, it is not the case by defintion. A Bomy pet is a Bomy that must do whatever its owner says. A Bomy player is a Bomy that can own other Bomys. So basically we have a race of people owning each other, which by western standards is morally reprehensible.
It would be like if I had a human pet. Fun, sure, but sooo wrong.
If the human pet is an android, that's fine then. I own C3P0. That's cool.
If the human is an android, that's fine too. That'd be like Rush from MegaMan owning a dog, or something. I dunno, I don't follow it much so I can't come up with a good example...something with the maverick hunters I guess.
If you want Bomy Pets, you have to establish that they ARE different from Bomy Players in more ways than their social standing. Obviously Bomy Pets and Bomy Players are not the same because Bomy Players are not slaves and Bomy Pets are. But they're both Bomys, so what's going on there? Imagine being on a world where Humans are both pets and citizens. It's just freaky.

It's like when Mickey invites Goofy over and he walks past Pluto. A dog as a pet and a dog as a houseguest. wts?
