Nope, fascism. The world has yet to see true communism; there's fundamentalism and fascism, both claim to be communism, but in true Animal Farm totalitarian style, "All animals are created equal-but some are more equal than others". In China everyone makes exactly the same ammount of money. Except for the government, because they need luxuries in order to properly run the country-it's hard work, doncha know. In the former soviet union, bread lines stretched back a week, unless of course you happened to know somebody. Everyone was equal, and the government worked in the best interest of the people; except the government decided it was in the best interest of the people to screw them, abolish the right to representation, and hog all the money for themselves.
That's what cheezes me about people who call Graal or Unixmad communism/communist. I mean, how can you have a communist capitalist? It just doesn't work.
Really it's more of a monarchy, by which I mean a polite term for earlier fascism. There's the king(s), Stefan and Unixmad, then the dukes, Nightlord and Zorro I guess (they're always reorganizing...), then the earls, Contego, Peach, SaRiA, and the regent lords/barons, Loriel, NeXuS, whoever's in charge of Police, and myself...there's a stratified power system, but still a division of power and responsibilities. I get to tell my team what to do; the King doesn't. He could, but he's got better things to do.
That's the trouble with fascism; the dictator's never too busy to meddle with groups that know what they're doing. But Unixmad and Stefan, see, they're cool, they step in when it's an emergency, but most of the time it's just coding and negotiating for a better server.
Which brings me to another point: Unixmad works his butt off. Just because you never see him do anything doesn't mean it's not getting done. Yeah, okay, FTP was down for a couple days, but you try running an economic black hole like Graal some time. Last check it STILL hasn't turned a profit, and yet we manage to get put on a better server anyway. That's some negotiatin' skillz. |
