The NPCs worked great and everything looked good. I couldn't tell what the NPC and stuff were going to do when they got online. That is why DD sucks so much is because it's NPC were made for offline play only pretty much!! So just drop the whole DD thing.

actually, if you come to DD now, you will see that it might already lived up to your expectations
