or maybe not block them completly but like half the dmg the player will take
and if they are using lvl 1 shield it takes off like 0.5 every 2 hits
like say

lvl 1 shield - dmg reduced by 30%
lvl 2 shield - dmg reduced by 40%
lvl 3 shield - dmg reduced by 50%

but if thats done it should be made so you cannot attack while using this
it would make sparring more realistic as in fights shields do block swords
