Good choice.
The reason for PS2 going obsolete very soon is that it renders EVERYTHING, and by everything I mean even what the screen isn't look at. That's bad because it sucks up a lot of CPU power. Computers/Dreamcast/N64 and other things only render what needs to be rendered.
Not to mention PS2s lack of video ram.
