Not really... skilled swordsmanship wasn't realized in actual war... that's mostly a creation of fantasy. This is how a medieval knight might fight with his swords...

::Hoists giant sword over shoulder, supporting the hilt with both hands::

::Runs out to battlefield, runs at an opponent::

::Pushes sword off of shoulder, dropping it on his enemy and crushing his armour::

I know a fair deal about skilled swordsmanship by my study but I know inside it's just sport and I couldn't use it to actually fight a war. But in fair duels and spars, it's all good.

I wish I could spar some of you, friends. <=)
