Some of my best friend's family are gone, I don't know if my cousin, aunt, and uncle are still alive, and my parents won't be able to come home from Thailand anytime soon. Nevertheless, we shouldn't panic, nor prepare for war. While noone wishes our prided Pentagon to burn in flames, nor our Twin towers in shambles. As I sighted the smoke rise from the once great buildings, I saw people instantly blaming the Middle East (with slightly good reason to, for they have been our major antagonists in terrorism for quite a while), I doubt they could even attempt something so complicated. First of all, we don't even have an enemy, so why shall we bring violence and hatred to anywhere at the moment? We should attempt to rebuild, lick wounds, and set up our defenses for something like this ever coming again. As of now, I could say our economy may crash. It was already at bad times when the event happened, but now we have a capital-consuming disaster, our stock markets are closed, and we have lost the World Trade Center. Instead of looking for hate, we should stand together to concetrate on survival and the help of our fellow man. Also, to hate them and to target people is what the terrorists obviously want, because that causes chaos, and possibly war (which many groups also want). Standing together, cooperatively, these terrorists will have lost, no matter what they've done. |
