Listen man, we're in an imaginary world, anything can happen if it choses to!
Maybe a hole could be made under the clam, and a new clam would emerge from the hole 10 seconds after a clam dies, humans would also have a 1 minute time out period where they can kill 1 clam per minute, preventing humans from ODing on the kill spree of clams.
